The Reel Material Most fly fishing reels on the market today are made of machined bar-stock aluminum, which means that a machine carved the reel from a single solid piece of aluminum

That means big glides, big swimbaits, or maybe even a larger paddle tail than youd normally use

The helical-cut stainless-steel gears provide the highest gear ratio of 6.3-to-1, allowing the reel to pick up 37.2 inches of line per crank

For saltwater anglers in the fishing reel market, slow-pitch jigging reels like the Daiwa Saltiga SJ offer adjustable handle lengths with settings at 85mm and 95mm

Its built for long casts and to work across a wide speed range, stopping in place when paused around cover

This means that youre buying a product from a company that will stand behind their products and they wont be disappearing anytime soon
